Tony Socheat was born in Cambodia but raised/educated in the United States before returning to Phnom Penh in 2008. Tony graduated with a Business Degree from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College (USA).
As a serial entrepreneur, Tony enjoys creating and building companies/projects from the ground up. Before founding Kambujaya, Tony served as the Project Director and Board Director of Bakong Village (developed under Urban Living Solutions). He spent 3 years overseeing the development of the landmark community-focused project based in Siem Reap. The project consisted of 350 residential/commercial units, a modern wet market, K-6 school, and parking facility over 5 hectares of land.
Prior to getting into real estate development, Tony established one of the largest consumer electronics businesses in Cambodia with authorized wholesale distribution rights for several leading brands (Samsung, Toshiba, Haier, and Skyworth). He started off his career in the private equity investments industry (both in the USA and Cambodia) and managed Cambodia’s first startup business incubator program (a pilot project funded by infoDev/WorldBank).
Personally, Tony is passionate about creating unique and inspirational spaces that provide impactful change to the Cambodian real estate industry through the use of innovative and design oriented approaches to project/construction management. Ultimately, Tony hopes to inspire the next generation of Cambodian creatives, engineers, architects, and designers with Kambujaya’s own unique approach to property and lifestyle development.
